The Mid-West Hackney Association sponsored a wonderful clinic at their 2009 Spring Pony sale
and a 3 DVD set of this clinic is offered for sale to anyone interested in showing ponies.
Featured in this clinic were noted trainers, Dr. Alan Raun, Gib Marcucci, Larry Bacon, Randy
Harper, Chris Gantley, Darrel Kolkman and Jim Spurrier. In addition, farrier Rick Medd conducted a clinic on shoeing
and offered tips to help with corrective shoeing and Dr. Joseph Lowry presented a clinic on equine dentistry.
Topics covered in this clinic included choosing a prospect, starting and training a prospect,
teaching flexion, harnessing a pony and correct fit of harness, staring and preparing an in-hand pony, action and tail sets.
The combined show ring experience of the participants in this clinic is over 500 years and
well over 1,000 World Champion ponies have been trained and shown by these people. This DVD set is professionally filmed and
edited and offers anyone a chance to find out the "tips" of some of the most well-known and respected people in the pony business.
